International Trade Commission Investigation of Certain Vehicle Parts and Components
On March 12, 2026, the U.S. International Trade Commission announced in the Federal Register that it has instituted an investigation following a complaint filed by General Motors in early February.
According to the notice, the complaint alleges violations of Section 337 related to “the importation into the United States, the sale for importation, and the sale within the United States after importation of certain vehicle parts, components thereof, and vehicles containing the same by reason of the infringement of certain claims of U.S. design patents.”
