House Committees Schedule Markups on Key Automotive Legislation

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced a proposed rollback of Biden-era vehicle emissions standards by delaying compliance deadlines for light- and medium-duty vehicles by two years, moving them to model year 2029. The EPA says the change is intended to increase consumer choice, lower vehicle costs, and respond to declining demand for electric vehicles. The agency estimates the proposal could save more than $1.7 billion overall and reduce vehicle costs for American families by several hundred dollars per vehicle.
