Federal Court Blocks President Biden’s Vaccination Mandate

A Louisiana federal appeals court has blocked the mandate issued by President Joe Biden that would require companies with 100 or more employees to either verify that their employees are vaccinated or require them to wear face masks and submit to weekly COVID-19 tests.

The panel of judges stated that "because the petitions give cause to believe there are grave statutory and constitutional issues with the Mandate, the Mandate is hereby STAYED pending further action by the court."

The lawsuits were filed by a group of 26 states including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Utah. The lawsuits argue that the Department of Labor lacks the authority to issue such a mandate and that proper protocol was not followed in issuing the emergency declaration.
