![]() ![]() 1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS Welcome to ASA Web Mail, a browser-based e-mail system. ASA Web mail is operated by the Automotive Service Association (ASA) and is provided as a service to you, subject to the following Terms of Service. The Terms of Service may be updated by ASA from time to time without notice. The most current version of the terms can be viewed at http://www.asashop.org/terms.htm. 2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE ASA is providing you with a free, optional Web-based e-mail address as a national member benefit. You understand and agree that the Web-based e-mail service is provided "as-is" and that ASA assumes no responsibility for the timeliness, deletion, faulted delivery, or failure to store any user communications or personalized settings. Although ASA provides a free e-mail address to national members, you are responsible for obtaining access to your e-mail, and that access may require third-party fees such as Internet service providers or telephone charges. You are responsible for those fees and any equipment necessary to obtain your e-mail. 3. ASA PRIVACY POLICY Registration data and other information about you are subject to ASA's Privacy Policy. The current version of this policy can be found at http://www.asashop.org/privacy.htm. 4. MEMBER SECURITY When completing the ASA Web Mail registration process, you will establish a username and password for your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the username and password, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur on your account. You agree to immediately notify ASA of any unauthorized use of your account. You also agree to ensure that you exit from your e-mail account at the end of each session. ASA will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by your failure to comply with this section of the Terms of Service. 5. MEMBER CONDUCT You understand that all information and content that you transmit via ASA Web Mail is the sole responsibility of the person from which the information and content originated. This means ASA is not responsible for the content you transmit. ASA does not control the information transmitted and does not guarantee the accuracy or quality of such content. You understand that by using Web Mail, you may be exposed to third-party content that is offensive, indecent or objectionable. Under no circumstance will ASA be liable for any content or information that is transmitted through its Web Mail service. You agree to not use the Web Mail service to: a. e-mail any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or otherwise objectionable; You acknowledge that ASA does not pre-screen any content or information sent through its Web mail service. 6. TERMINATION You agree that ASA may immediately terminate your ASA Web Mail account without prior notice. Cause for such termination shall include, but not limited to, a) violations of the Terms of Service, b) requests by law enforcement or other government agencies, c) non-renewal of ASA national membership, d) a request by you, e) unexpected technical issues or problems, and f) extended periods of inactivity. Termination of your ASA Web Mail account includes a) removal of access to your ASA Web Mail account, b) deletion of your username and password, and c) removal of all communications and files within your Web Mail account. 7. GENERAL NOTICE ASA considers e-mail transmitted via its Web Mail service to be the private correspondence between the sender and the recipient. ASA will not monitor, edit, or disclose the contents of a member's private communications, except: a) as required by law; b) to comply with legal process; and c) to identify or resolve technical problems or respond to complaints about the Web Mail service. 8. VIOLATIONS Please report any violations of these terms to asainfo@asashop.org. 9. ASA E-MAIL By signing up for ASA Web Mail, you will receive periodic e-mails from ASA. |
