Insurer-Owned Repair Shops
   Insurer-Owned Repair Shops > Michigan
Michigan State Senator Laura Toy (R-Livonia) has reintroduced insurer-owned repair shop legislation, Senate Bill 400. If enacted, the bill would prohibited a motor vehicle insurance company from owning or acquiring an interest in a repair facility. In addition, any insurer that has ownership of a repair facility must divest itself by two years after the effective date of the legislation.

ASA is asking collision repair shop owners in Michigan to contact their state senators requesting he or she co-sponsors the Sen. Toy's bill.
