The Automotive Service Association (ASA) hosted the 2010 ASA 'Taking the Hill' Fly-In and AMI Leadership Conference for its Mechanical and Collision Division members May 11-12, 2010, in Washington, D.C.
Two of the most important issues facing the collision repair industry (aftermarket crash parts policy and federal insurance regulation) were discussed by collision shop members and key policymakers.
Joining collision members this year, mechanical members focused on federal incentives for safety inspection programs, vehicle emissions testing as part of clean air policy efforts and federal automotive vocational education and training support.
The 2010 event was also paired with an Automotive Management Institute (AMI) Leadership Conference, which allowed attendees to participate in two additional three-hour workshops that focused on ethical leadership. The workshops were designed to enhance attendees' business and personal success.
