When I click update, I get a message indicating an update will be processed the next time the program in opened. But when I open it again, nothing happens.

This occurs when the MVReader program attempted to decompress the update file. This may occur if the file was corrupted during the download process. For solutions to this problem, open your ASA OnDemand product and click on "How to Use" on the main page. Read the Frequently Asked Questions section at the top of the page. Don't worry...the problem can be fixed!

What if my firewall is prohibiting access to updates?

A firewall is a security system designed to prevent unauthorized access to a private or local network. The system can either be a hardware firewall, a software firewall or a combination of both. Sometimes firewalls are configured to only allow outbound access to specific Web sites. If this is the case, contact your system administrator.

ASA OnDemand requires the following access to perform updates successfully:

I use AOL to access the Internet. When I click update, the program waits a long time and then gives me an error message that update is temporarily unavailable. Why?

Chances are, your AOL parental controls have the current user's access set to "teenager." If you use AOL, have your system administrator verify and expand your access rights to allow access to www.mvreader.com.

When installing ASA OnDemand, I'm asked for my HTTP proxy information. What is that?

Some networks use a proxy server that requires a username and password to be entered when accessing the Internet. If you do not use a prozy server, leave the fields blank when installing the software.

I installed the 30-day trial prospect version of ASA OnDemand. Now I'm a member of ASA. How can I view the full-version of the software?

Click on the "MVReader" button in the bottom, left corner of ASA OnDemand. A submenu will pop up giving you the option to click "Preferences." Once on the "Preferences" screen, click on the "Authorization" tab. Enter your member number and last name in the fields provided. Once complete, click on "Retrieve Authorization Key."

If successful, the program will ask you to reload in order to obtain the full-version.

Please note that new members are added to the ASA OnDemand database every 30 days. It could be up to a month before you're able to update to the full-version of the program.

I've entered all my information correctly during the registration process, but the program is still not installing properly. What gives?

The problem is probably occurring while entering information on the "Authorization" tab. Your ASA member number is a six-digit number that can be found on your mailing label of AutoInc. magazine. The number always begins with a "1".

The last name should correspond to the last name of the contact person ASA has in its database. Make sure you're using the correct last name.

If all else fails, call ASA's Membership Department at (800) 272-7467, ext. 295 to double-check the accuracy of our database.

Please note that if your membership in ASA is not current, ASA OnDemand will not install on your computer.
