ASA Web Site Recognized by Dow Jones
Bedford, Texas, October 28, 1998-- The Automotive Service Association (ASA) Web site (http://www.asashop.org) has been chosen as a Select Site by the editors of the Dow Jones Business Directory ( http://bd.dowjones.com). Only nine automotive industry Web sites were selected for this recognition. The ASA Web site was featured in the Business Directory during the week of Oct. 12, 1998.
The Dow Jones site's main purpose is to help Internet users find reliable information on the Web. The Directory offers a guide to high-quality, business Web sites. The ASA site was rated well above average in the four categories of content, speed, navigation and design.
"The Directory, which contains thousands of Web site reviews, is written and edited with the same care that goes into all of Dow Jones business news and information products, like our sister publication, The Wall Street Journal. The ASA site was considered, along with thousands of other business sites in many categories, and was chosen because we feel it provides exceptional value to our readers," said Glenn Fannick, senior producer, Dow Jones Business Directory.
"We consider our Web site a valuable source of information to the automotive professional and consumer alike and we are honored to have the ASA site featured in the Dow Jones Business Directory," said G.W. "Bud" Merwin III, president and chief staff executive of ASA.
The Automotive Service Association is the largest not-for-profit trade association of its kind, serving more than 13,000 businesses and approximately 60,000 professionals from all segments of the automotive service industry. ASA is headquartered in Bedford, Texas.
ASA advances professionalism and excellence in the automotive repair industry through education, representation and member services. Additional information about ASA, including past news releases, is available on the ASA Web Site on the Internet (http://www.asashop.org).
