Consumers Expect Pickup, Delivery Service From Automotive Repair Shops

Bedford, Texas, Nov. 21, 1997 The majority of respondents to the Automotive Service Association (ASA) Web Site poll indicated that they expect pickup and delivery service from the automotive facility that repairs their vehicles; forty-two percent responded that they did not expect this service.

The survey was answered by 231 visitors to the ASA Web Site. The results correspond with results of an Automotive Service Advertising & Perceptions Study done recently by ASA. In this study, consumers indicated that the shop's ability to provide alternative transportation played a role in their overall satisfaction with their most recent service visit.

ASA regularly posts an opinion poll on its web site to gain feedback from visitors concerning automotive service. Past surveys and their results are archived on the site.

The Automotive Service Association is the largest not-for-profit trade association of its kind serving more than 12,000 businesses and approximately 55,000 professionals from all segments of the automotive service industry. ASA advances the professionalism and excellence in the automotive repair industry through education, representation and member services.
