House Small Business Committee Reviews Health Care Reform
The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Small Business recently held a hearing on "Common Ground: Finding Consensus on Health Reform, the Small Business Perspective." Rep. Nydia M. Velazquez, D-N.Y., chairwoman, opened the hearing by emphasizing the necessity of change in the "broken" American health care system, especially for the benefit of small businesses in the United States. ASA, AMI Accepting Applications for NACE, CARS Scholarships
Applications Due Aug. 14, 2009
ASA, in conjunction with the Automotive Management Institute (AMI), offers six scholarship opportunities to assist mechanical service and collision repair professionals interested in improving his or her business skills through management education. The recipients will have the opportunity to attend ASA's Automotive Service and Repair Week (ASRW).
ASRW co-locates NACE and CARS to create an industrywide event that includes both the collision and mechanical segments of the automotive service and repair industry. ASRW will be held Nov. 4-7, 2009, at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Convention Center. Scholarship applications may be completed online at www.AMIonline.org, or by visiting the Members Only section of ASA's Web site, www.ASAshop.org.
