ASA 2009 Annual Convention:
Last Day for Early-Bird Savings

Register online now at www.ASAshop.org/Annual09

Register before March 31 and SAVE!March 31 is the early-bird registration deadline for ASA's 2009 Annual Convention to be held April 30-May 2 at the Caribe Royale All-Suites Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Members who register before the early-bird deadline will enjoy significant savings - up to $300. In addition, members are encouraged to register promptly as hotel rooms may be limited.

Among the highlights of the event will be ASA’s annual Celebration of Excellence on Saturday, May 2 – a special evening function dedicated to honoring the achievements of ASA members. In addition to dinner and an awards presentation, the program will include AMI’s graduation ceremony, which recognizes those who have earned AMI’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. The swearing-in ceremony of ASA’s new board of directors will conclude the event and an AMI dessert reception will follow. Attire for the evening is semiformal, black tie optional.

The Celebration of Excellence is included in the annual convention registration, complete with dinner and the dessert reception. Anyone not registered for the annual convention can purchase tickets for $85 per person before the early-bird deadline of March 31.

Online registration is open at www.ASAshop.org/Annual09 until April 20; however, the early-bird discount ends Tuesday, March 31. In addition to providing secure, convenient online registration, the ASA Annual Convention Web site also includes daily agendas, education courses, a list of sponsors and Industry Impact session descriptions.

ASA Legislative Update

House Bill Proposes Repeal of McCarran-Ferguson Act
The Insurance Industry Competition Act of 2009, House Bill 1583, amends the McCarran-Ferguson Act by eliminating the federal antitrust exemption for the insurance industry. The exemption has been in place since 1945. Click here for more information.
