Attendees Give High Marks to ASA for Successful Annual Convention

Arizona Governor Vetoes Bill Requiring Legislative Approval
of Emissions Standards

Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano vetoed legislation last week that attempted to block state agencies from enacting vehicle emissions regulations. Arizona H.B. 2017 would have prevented the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) or any state agency from adopting government programs that would in any way regulate the emission of greenhouse gas or motor vehicle fuel economy without specific legislative authorization from the Arizona legislature.
