Automotive Associations Launch Service Information Video
The Automotive Service Association (ASA), the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers (Alliance) and the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers (AIAM) have produced a video addressing service repair issues in the automotive industry. The purpose of the video is to demonstrate that the same service information is available to dealers and independent automotive repairers. For more info, click here.

Online Registration Open for ASA Annual Convention
Online registration for the Automotive Service Association's 2008 Annual Convention is now available by visiting www.ASAshop.org/Annual08. The convention will be held May 1-3 at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara, Calif.
Attendees may use the secure online form to register for a variety of activities, including two management seminars, ASA's Celebration of Excellence, housing accommodations and an optional tour of Winchester Mansion.

NASTF Releases Secure Data Release Model (SDRM)
The National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) has announced that the Secure Data Release Model (SDRM), which allows properly vetted technicians and security professionals to access key codes, immobilizer PINs and other security-related information, has been released to the industry. South Dakota House Committee Tables Replacement Crash Parts Bill
South Dakota Senate Bill 103 was tabled on Feb. 13 during a House hearing. The bill, introduced by state Sen. Nancy Turbak, aimed to establish certification provisions regarding the use of replacement crash parts in the repair of certain motor vehicles. Click here for the full story.

If your business received a 2007 Economic Census form in December, and you missed the Feb. 12 submission deadline, the Census Bureau is urging business owners to seek a 30-day extension and complete the form as soon as possible. Businesses that received forms are required by law (Title 13 of the U.S. Code) to respond.
Businesses can request a 30-day reporting extension or get help with their form via the Internet or by calling toll-free at (800) 233-6136 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday.
