Miller Elected ASA Secretary-Treasurer

Bedford, Texas, May 6, 1996 — Carl Miller, AAM, president of Japanese Connection, Inc., in Salem, Ore., was elected secretary-treasurer of the Automotive Service Association (ASA) 1996 board of directors. The election was held during the ASA Annual Convention, April 21-24, in Washington, D.C. Miller previously held the position of affiliate director on the board.

In addition to his national board positions, Miller has been active in local and state ASA groups, and has held numerous leadership positions. In 1990, he was the top volunteer recruiter for ASA and received ASA-Oregon’s Man of the Year Award. He earned the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation from the Automotive Service Association Management Institute (ASAMI) in 1993, and his involvement in consumer education campaigns includes the publication of his book, The Maximum Miles Manual.

Miller is a 40-year veteran of the automotive service industry and will serve a one-year term as secretary-treasurer.
