Kahler Recognized as ASA Top Recruiter
Bedford, Texas, March 30, 1998 - Denny Kahler, AAM, owner of Kahler's Werkstatt in Dublin, Calif., recruited 42 new members to the Automotive Service Association (ASA), earning him the association's top volunteer recruiter award for 1997. Kahler received this award during the ASA Annual Convention held March 11 - 15 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
Kahler has been an ASA member for five years, but 1997 marked his first year to earn membership on the association's Chairman's Club in recognition of individuals who recruit five or more new ASA members.
"To recruit 42 new members in just one year is outstanding," said G.W. "Bud" Merwin III, president and chief staff executive of ASA. "Dedicated members such as Denny help ASA further the education and professionalism of independent automotive repair professionals." In presenting the award, Cate Lisak, ASA's vice president of membership, said, "I am not sure what his secret formula is, but you can be certain hard work, enthusiasm and loyalty are a part of it."
Kahler earned the Automotive Management Institute (AMI) Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation at this year's Annual Convention. AMI provides business management education tailored to the members of the automotive industry.
The Automotive Service Association is the largest not-for-profit trade association of its kind, serving more than 13,000 businesses and approximately 60,000 professionals from all segments of the automotive service industry. ASA is headquartered in Bedford, Texas.
ASA advances professionalism and excellence in the automotive repair industry through education, representation and member services. Additional information about ASA, including past news releases, is available on the ASA Web Site on the Internet (http://www.asashop.org).
