Golden Quill Awards Honor ASA Publications
Bedford, Texas, March 13, 1998 - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced the recipients of its 1998 Golden Quill Awards during the ASA Annual Convention. The Golden Quill Awards recognize ASA regional publications and member television commercials for excellence in layout, design and content. The convention, which opened yesterday and runs through March 15, is being held in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
Awards were presented during today's awards luncheon in the categories of ASA magazine, ASA affiliate newsletter, ASA chapter newsletter, and best television commercial.
"Pennsylvania Automotive," ASA-Pennsylvania received first place in the magazine category. Second place in this category went to "ASA News," ASA-Minnesota. First place in the affiliate newsletter category went to "Auto Pro," ASA-Texas, with second place shared by "Colorado Report," ASA-Colorado and "Auto Pro," ASA-Oregon. First place in the chapter newsletter category was awarded to "The Driving Force," ASA-Greater Kansas City. "Portland Scope," ASA-Portland, Ore., took second place in the chapter newsletter category. Richard Schiff, owner of La Car Porte in La Porte, Texas won the best television commercial category.
Judges for the 1998 Golden Quill Awards were Shahla Siddiqi, senior editor, Motor Age magazine and Jim Strickland, president, Strickland Design, Inc. Award winners received an engraved plaque from ASA during the awards presentation.
