State Legislative And Regulatory Issues Summary Now On ASA Web Site

Bedford, Texas, April 21, 1997-- The Automotive Service Association (ASA) Web Site on the Internet (http://www.asashop.org) now has a summary of state legislative and regulatory issues for mechanical and collision repair. The summary is updated regularly and is located in the Views and News section of the web site.

Issues being monitored for mechanical repair are inspection and maintenance (I/M); air bags; licensing; labor; refrigerants; theft; safety inspections; fraud; vehicle scrappage; training and taxes. For collision repair, the summary covers automotive refinish; fraud; air bags; inspections; salvage titling; taxes; aftermarket parts; direct repair; vehicle scrappage; licensing; paints, materials and labor caps; and theft.

Content for the summary is provided by the ASA Washington, D.C. staff who regularly monitor state and federal legislative issues and regulations on behalf of ASA members and the industry.
