New ASA Board of Directors Installed During Celebration of Excellence

BEDFORD, TEXAS, May 4, 2009 - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has announced its new board of directors and introduced the board during the association's Annual Convention April 30-May 2 in Orlando, Fla. The installation of the board took place during ASA's Celebration of Excellence May 2.

Earl Dohner, AAM, E&E's Garage, Brookville, Ohio, was named chairman of ASA's board of directors for 2009-2010. Dohner assumed the chairman's post at the conclusion of the annual convention. He succeeds Reggie Denney, AAM, Reggie Denney Auto Repair, Eden, N.C., who moves to the immediate-past chairman's seat on the board of directors for one year.

Other members of ASA's 2009-2010 board include Jerry Burns, AAM, chairman-elect, Automotive Impressions Inc., Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Ron Nagy, AAM, secretary/treasurer, Nagy's Collision Center, Wooster, Ohio.

Serving as general directors are Daniel Guido, AAM, Tony's Service Center, Phoenix; Diane Rodenhouse, Rodenhouse Body Shop Inc., Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Donny Seyfer, AAM, Seyfer Automotive Inc., Wheat Ridge, Colo.

Serving as affiliate directors are Russell McCloud, AAM, Accurate Automotive Attention, Yuma, Ariz.; Joel Baxter, AAM, B&B Auto and Truck Repair, Bremerton, Wash.; and Roy Schnepper, AAM, Butler's Collision Inc., Roseville, Mich.

The final two board positions are held by the Collision Division and Mechanical Division directors: Darrell Amberson, AAM, Lehman's Garage, Bloomington, Minn. (Collision Division); and Rolf Werner, AAM, Werner's Mastertek Auto Repair, Aurora, Colo. (Mechanical Division).

Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive, also serves on the ASA board of directors in an ex officio capacity. Members of the ASA Executive Committee are Dohner, Burns, Nagy, Denney, Amberson and Pyle.

ASA's 2010 convention will be held next spring in Arizona; specific dates and location have not been determined. The association's annual trade shows - the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) and the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) - will be held during the second Automotive Service and Repair Week (ASRW), Nov. 4-7, 2009. All ASRW events will be located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

The Automotive Service Association is the largest not-for-profit trade association of its kind dedicated to and governed by independent automotive service and repair professionals. ASA serves an international membership base that includes numerous affiliate, state and chapter groups from both the mechanical and collision repair segments of the automotive service industry.
