ASA Announces Annual Convention Keynote Speaker

Meagan Johnson to Address Multi-Generational Issues

BEDFORD, TEXAS, February 5, 2009 - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has announced that Meagan Johnson will be the keynote speaker for the 2009 ASA Annual Convention. Johnson, whose humoristic and professional style has earned her the Certified Speaking Professional designation - a designation held by only 10 percent of professional speakers - is slated to appear during the Annual Convention keynote luncheon May 2.

Johnson will deliver her presentation, "Zap the Gap: Solving the Multi-Generational Puzzle." She will deliver her humorous spin on how to attract, train, market, manage and retain people from every generation. Attendees will acquire tools they can use to improve their multi-generational relationships with clients, customers and co-workers.

Since 1997, Johnson has entertained and educated thousands of audience members from all over the globe. She has written a variety of articles about multiple generations and has been featured in many publications and audio programs. She also wrote the Generational chapter in the book, "Success is A Team Effort."

"Meagan is entertaining and dynamic all at the same time," said Bill Haas, ASA's vice president of education and training. "She is able to add humor to a topic everyone is faced with throughout the day. If you ever find yourself thinking, 'They don't get it,' you won't want to miss the opportunity to hear Meagan."

ASA's 2009 Annual Convention will be held April 30-May 2 at the Caribe Royale All-Suites Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. The agenda will include the ASA board of directors meeting; a State of the Association address by Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive; an affiliate assembly meeting; Industry Impact sessions focusing on the automotive service and collision repair segments of the industry; three management courses; a benefit provider networking reception; and ASA's annual Celebration of Excellence awards ceremony, which will again host the Automotive Management Institute graduation ceremony.

Online registration will soon be open at www.ASAshop.org/Annual09. Members who register before the early-bird deadline of March 31 will enjoy significant savings. The Web site also outlines the full convention agenda, lists convention sponsors, and includes additional details about networking functions.

The Automotive Service Association is the largest not-for-profit trade association of its kind dedicated to and governed by independent automotive service and repair professionals. ASA serves an international membership base that includes numerous affiliate, state and chapter groups from both the mechanical and collision repair segments of the automotive service industry.
