ASA to Host Service Information Workshop in Colorado

Seminar to be held in Fort Collins

BEDFORD, TEXAS, September. 25, 2008 - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has announced it will host a new Service Information Workshop in Fort Collins, Colo. The free workshop will be held Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the LaQuinta Inn in Fort Collins. Additional information, such as times, addresses and driving directions, is available online at www.ASAshop.org/KEYS.

"After teaching this class all over the country, it is going to be a lot of fun to present it to shops in Northern Colorado," said Donny Seyfer, co-owner, Seyfer Automotive, Wheat Ridge, Colo., who will also present the session on behalf of ASA.

ASA believes the current voluntary, industry-supported service information process protects independent repairers and consumers by allowing them access to the same information available to manufacturers and dealers. These workshops are part of ASA's efforts to educate shop owners and technicians about current systems and how they can manage the many service information options available to them.

These workshops are designed to educate shop owners and technicians about the numerous service information sources available to automotive repair shops. The educational agenda includes discussions on computers and Internet resources necessary to access service information, manufacturer and third-party Web sites, diagnostic tools that may assist in handling a repair most efficiently, and the role of the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF).

Attendees are encouraged to ask questions to address specific service information issues they have experienced. Attendees are also eligible to participate in drawings for training videos and subscriptions to OEM service information Web sites.

The Automotive Service Association is the largest not-for-profit trade association of its kind dedicated to and governed by independent automotive service and repair professionals. ASA serves an international membership base that includes numerous affiliate, state and chapter groups from both the mechanical and collision repair segments of the automotive service industry. ASA's headquarters is in Bedford, Texas.

ASA advances professionalism and excellence in the automotive repair industry through education, representation and member services. For additional information about ASA, including past news releases, go to www.ASAshop.org, or visit ASA's legislative Web site at www.TakingTheHill.com.
