ASA Mechanical Division Operations Committee Meets with Delphi, Tours Facility

BEDFORD, TEXAS, September 9, 2008 - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) Mechanical Division Operations Committee recently met with representatives at Delphi's world headquarters in Troy, Mich. The agenda included an initial meeting with Chip Johnson, eastern regional manager for Service, Education, Training, Tools & Equipment, Delphi Product & Service Solutions, followed by meetings with Ben Johnson, director, Global Product Development; Steve Majkowski, global chief engineer, Service & Education; Dave Ehle, chief engineer, Vehicle Electronics; Bill Wrubel, manager, Aftermarket Service & Support; and Doug Vidler, senior manager, North American Service & Training Operations.

"As an OE supplier, Delphi is constantly working to transform our OE knowledge and experience into the parts, tools, training and support that will help technicians provide the highest quality service to their customers," said Johnson. "After meeting with ASA and seeing their dedication to the aftermarket industry firsthand, it's clear that together we'll be able to help technicians meet the needs of an increasingly complex market."

The Delphi visit was part of the agenda when the ASA Mechanical Division Operations Committee met in Michigan for its annual meeting in late July. The committee had the opportunity to learn more about Delphi's commitment to independent repairers and their businesses.

"I believe the operations committee will agree with me when I say the visit to Delphi was a 'wow' experience. The staff was professional and the exchange of information was invaluable. The committee greatly appreciated the opportunity to talk with their representatives and to tour the facility," said Robbie Addison, ASA Mechanical Division manager.

Mechanical Division Operations Committee members in attendance included Rolf Werner, AAM, Mechanical Division director; Bill Moss, AAM, assistant division director; Rick Baker, AAM; Mike Brewster, AAM; Bob Constant; Mike Koebke, AAM; Howard Pitkow, AAM; Dave Walters, AAM; Bob Wills, AAM; and Terry Wynter, AAM. Reggie Denney, AAM, ASA chairman, also attended the meeting, as well as Addison.
