ASA Plans Tour of Winchester Mansion
Host City Offers Many Entertainment Options During ASA Convention
BEDFORD, TEXAS, Feb. 28, 2008 - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announces an optional tour for attendees of the 2008 ASA Annual Convention, to be held May 1-3 at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara, Calif. This networking activity will provide time for fellow members, spouses and other family members to get together while visiting one of the many local attractions Santa Clara has to offer.
The optional tour is scheduled for Thursday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will include lunch. The tour will give attendees the opportunity to explore the oddities of the Winchester Mystery House - a construction project designed and built by the Winchester Rifle heiress, Sarah L. Winchester.
The mansion tour will feature 110 of the 160 rooms that make up the mysterious house. A window built into the floor, staircases leading to nowhere, a chimney that rises four floors, doors that open onto blank walls, and upside-down posts are just the beginning of oddities that will be seen. No one has been able to explain the mysteries that exist within the Winchester Mansion, but convention attendees will be given the opportunity to explore them firsthand and come to their own conclusions.
"ASA has designed a full program that will provide the balance of business and networking needed to make this year's convention informative as well as entertaining," said Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive. "Giving our members the opportunity to relax while networking with their industry peers is something we strive to have in our agenda every year. This tour is a popular one and we're pleased to include it as an optional function for our members."
Attendees will also be given the opportunity to network with their peers as they attend additional social gatherings scheduled during the annual convention, including a benefit-oriented networking reception Friday, May 2, and ASA's Celebration of Excellence (www.ASAcelebration.com) Saturday, May 3.
Online registration is now open at www.ASAshop.org/Annual08. Members who register before the early-bird deadline of March 27 will enjoy significant savings. In addition to the optional tour, attendees may use the secure online form to register for management seminars and housing accommodations.
