ASA Presents ASA-New Orleans with Humanitarian Award
BEDFORD, TEXAS, May 25, 2007 - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has bestowed the Humanitarian Award on its Louisiana affiliate, ASA-New Orleans. The award recognizes selfless acts, both inside and outside the industry.
"One of the greatest honors the ASA chairman has is presenting the association's Humanitarian Award. Although typically presented to an individual, this year's award is appropriately presented to a group of individuals - for their generosity and assistance to their fellow members; as well as their perseverance," said Charlie Elder, AAM. "There is no finer example of camaraderie and caring for our fellow man than the efforts shown during the long rebuilding process endured by our ASA-New Orleans affiliate."
Elder presented the award at ASA's Celebration of Excellence awards dinner and ceremony, which was held May 5 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. Michele and Steve Sallinger, AAMs, Ole Metairie Car Care, Metairie, La., accepted the award on behalf of ASA-New Orleans.
The next Celebration of Excellence will be held during the ASA Annual Convention May 1-3, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Santa Clara, Calif.
