ASA Names Seyfer Communicator of the Year
BEDFORD, TEXAS, May 25, 2007 - Each year the Automotive Service Association recognizes an ASA member for outstanding efforts using different communication vehicles to promote their business in the community and industry. During ASA's recent Celebration of Excellence in Nashville, Tenn., Seyfer Automotive in Wheatridge, Colo., was honored for its exceptional media presence and received ASA's Communicator of the Year award. The award was presented to Donny Seyfer, AAM, co-owner and manager.
The Communicator of the Year award encompasses every aspect of a shop's overall marketing plan, including newsletters, brochures, television and radio commercials, Web sites and other public relations material. Seyfer Automotive's marketing efforts range from well-developed and professionally designed direct mail pieces to a cutting-edge Web site. In addition, creative radio and television advertising is used to reach the motoring public.
"Without fail, Donny Seyfer goes the extra mile when it comes to making himself available to share a shop owner's perspective on important industry issues. He has delivered positive messages about our industry to a variety of audiences, using a variety of formats," said Angie Wilson, ASA's vice president of marketing and communications, who presented the award. "His communication efforts - and those of Seyfer Automotive - elevate the professional image of ASA members and independent repair businesses nationwide. This award is well-deserved."
Seyfer can be heard every Saturday morning on Denver's talk radio station, 630 KHOW hosting the Drive radio show with fellow ASA member John Rush, AAM, John's 4x4 Center Inc., Boulder, Colo. Earlier this year, Seyfer also became a regular contributor to Motor Age magazine, producing a column on vehicle and shop technology. He has also been a regular contributor to ASA's AUTOINC. magazine. "I am certainly honored to be recognized for something that I enjoy doing," said Seyfer.
The next Celebration of Excellence will be held during the ASA Annual Convention May 1-3, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Santa Clara, Calif.
