Moppert Earns ASA Phoenix Award

BEDFORD, TEXAS, May 23, 2007 - Harry Moppert, AAM, owner of Moppert Brothers Collision Services Group in Morton, Pa, was named recipient of the ASA Collision Division Phoenix Award at ASA's recent Celebration of Excellence May 5 in Nashville, Tenn. The Phoenix Award recognizes an ASA Collision Division member for his or her contribution to the automotive service industry.

The award was presented by Darrell Amberson, AAM, ASA Collision Division director, to Jerry Burns, Automotive Impressions Inc., Rio Rancho, N.M., on Moppert's behalf.

"Harry served the association for six years in an official capacity as a member of the Collision Division Operations Committee. He chaired the Insurance subcommittee and continues to participate as a member of the Insurance, Estimating and Refinish subcommittees ...," said Bill Haas, ASA vice president of education and training, who emceed the event. "You can clearly see that he continues to give back to the industry, always willing to share his knowledge and expertise and offer valuable input."

Moppert was instrumental in ASA's discussion with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regarding paint regulations during the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) in 2004. He regularly attends NACE and is frequently a presenter at the event. In 2006, as committee member "Emeritus," Moppert participated in the operations committee tour of the CAPA testing facility in Michigan. In addition to his association involvement, he is also on the CCC Information Services Advisory board.

This was the third installment of ASA's Celebration of Excellence awards dinner and ceremony, which was held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. The annual awards ceremony honors the achievements of ASA members and industry partners. The program also included a graduation ceremony recognizing those who have earned the Automotive Management Institute's (AMI) Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation.
