ASA Plans Networking Activities for Convention Attendees
Early-Bird Registration for Nashville Event Ends March 23
BEDFORD, TEXAS, March 9, 2007 - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has planned two optional tours for attendees of the 2007 ASA Annual Convention, which will be held May 3-5 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. These networking activities will provide time for old friends, spouses and other family members to get together and see some of the local attractions that Nashville has to offer.
The optional tours are scheduled on Thursday, May 3. One tour will take attendees through the Shaker Museum and Shaker Tavern of South Union, Ky., one of 24 villages established by the Shakers. The tour will give members an insight to the culture and history of the communal religious organization and allow them to experience the simplicity and perfection that produced a legacy of craftsmanship for the Shakers. The tour bus will depart at 11 a.m. and will return to the hotel at 4:30 p.m.
The second tour will take attendees to the streets of Nashville for a walking tour of the sights and historic landmarks that have shaped the beautiful and historic city. Rounding out the tour is lunch and line dancing at the Wildhorse Saloon, home to the hottest country music in Nashville. The tour group will depart at 10 a.m. and will return to the hotel at 2:30 p.m.
"Our members work hard on a daily basis and deserve some time to let loose and relax," said Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive. "In addition to the numerous business meetings on the agenda, ASA is pleased to provide exciting tours that should allow members to unwind and ultimately prepare for a return to the daily grind refreshed and ready to work."
Attendees will also be given the opportunity to network with their peers as they tee off on the same grounds on which the professionals compete, if they choose to schedule a tee time at Gaylord Springs. Gaylord Springs has earned its place among the nation's best and was voted one of the "Best Places to Play" by Golf Digest in 2004. Numerous exciting shot opportunities, dramatic landscaping and 18 challenging holes make Gaylord Springs a must-play during the 2007 annual convention. Golf tee times may be scheduled by calling Gaylord Springs at (615) 458-1730, ext. 3, or by visiting www.gaylordsprings.com. Tee times must be scheduled 30 days in advance.
Additional networking opportunities scheduled during the annual convention include the Industry Leadership Reception and ASA's Celebration of Excellence (www.ASAcelebration.com).
Online registration is now open at www.ASAshop.org/Annual07. Members who register before the early-bird deadline of March 23 will enjoy significant savings. In addition to the optional tours, attendees may use the secure online form to register for management seminars and housing accommodations.
