ASA Launches New Blog Web Site
President's Blog Enhances Industry Communication, Commentary
BEDFORD, TEXAS, Aug. 17, 2006 - The Automotive Service Association (ASA)
announces the launch of its new blog Web site, blog.asashop.org. The blog
will provide commentary and analysis about the automotive service industry
and association news. The new "President's Blog," which will be published
biweekly, will be written by Ron Pyle, ASA's president and chief staff executive.
A blog is an interactive Web site that allows visitors to quickly post comments,
share ideas and interact with others in an online setting. Although ASA's
blog is one of the first in the automotive repair association arena, there
are millions of blogs currently online, each relating to a specific subject.
"Our new blog site provides us with an excellent opportunity to discuss
some issues that are impacting the automotive service industry, and in turn,
our association and members," said Pyle. "This venue allows us to expand
the dialogue between industry professionals and bridge the communication
gap between our members and the ASA national office."
ASA encourages members, industry professionals and consumers to visit the
blog regularly and participate in the discussion.
"Blogs have been around for years, but are truly gaining popularity in today's
Internet-driven world," said Colby Horton, ASA's electronic communications
manager. "We recognize that it's important for ASA, as an association, to
implement such technology into its communication strategy."
The Automotive Service Association is the largest not-for-profit trade association of its kind serving an international membership base that includes numerous affiliate, state and chapter groups from all segments of the automotive service industry. ASA's headquarters is in Bedford, Texas.
ASA advances professionalism and excellence in the automotive repair industry through education, representation and member services. For additional information about ASA, including past news releases, go to www.asashop.org, or visit ASA's legislative Web site at www.TakingTheHill.com.
