TakingTheHill.com Provides Absentee Voting Information

Useful Guide for Many CARS, NACE, Industry Week Attendees

BEDFORD, TEXAS, Sept. 16, 2004 - Industry professionals heading to Las Vegas to attend events taking place during Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week (AAIW) may miss their chance to vote in this year's presidential election. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 2. To that end, the Automotive Service Association has created a special section in its new legislative Web site (www.TakingTheHill.com) to inform attendees about how to vote absentee in their area.

The "2004 Elections" section of TakingTheHill.com provides detailed information about this year's election, catered specifically to a visitor's geographic area. Visitors simply enter their ZIP code in this special section to access the information, including important information on absentee voting as well as polling locations for in-person voting.

In addition, the 2004 Elections section includes state-specific, downloadable voter registration forms as well as information about where to mail the completed form. For some states, an electronic version can be completed online.

"There is so much at stake during an election year, at both the federal and state levels," said Ron Pyle, ASA president and chief staff executive. "We want automotive industry professionals to have the opportunity to be a part of CARS, NACE and Industry Week, while still being able to participate in this year's election. By providing information about absentee voting and other important election issues at the click of a button, we're supplying a convenient venue to do just that."

The section also includes information about candidates, both national and local; key state election dates for primaries and general elections; state-specific ballot initiatives; and voter maps. TakingTheHill.com will also include post-election results for all presidential, congressional and state races.

TakingTheHill.com was created to advance grassroots advocacy campaigns within the automotive repair industry. The site is now responsible for sending more than 1,000 messages to elected representatives around the nation.

The Automotive Service Association is the largest not-for-profit trade association of its kind, serving 12,000 businesses and approximately 65,000 professionals from all segments of the automotive service industry. ASA's headquarters is in Bedford, Texas.

ASA advances professionalism and excellence in the automotive repair industry through education, representation and member services. For additional information about ASA, including past news releases, go to www.asashop.org, or visit ASA's legislative Web site at www.TakingTheHill.com.
