Welcome to the Fourth Annual NACE Online Daily News!

Welcome to the NACE Daily News, an online daily report of highlights of the World's Largest Collision Repair Event the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE). This is our fourth year bringing you the NACE Daily News, which will be published each day of the show (Dec. 2-5). We'll be reporting from the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta beginning on Dec. 2, with coverage of seminars, keynote addresses and trade show floor activity.

NACE '99 has some outstanding keynote speakers including Robert Gates, former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and George Stephanopoulos, former advisor to President Clinton.

We have a wealth of management, industry and technical seminars, and a world-class trade show displaying some of the very latest collision repair products and services.

The first NACE was held in Nashville in 1983 and drew 74 exhibiting companies and 1,573 attendees. NACE '99 is expected to draw more than 620 exhibitors and, for the sixth year in a row, over 30,000 attendees. The success of NACE has earned it the privilege of being one of 20 U.S. trade shows chosen this year to participate in the Department of Commerce's International Buyer Program. In addition, NACE received the prestigious honor of being ranked Nol 93 on Tradeshow Week's list of the 200 largest trade shows of 1998.

The NACE Web site (http://www.NACE-99.com) has brought additional international exposure and many industry professionals outside of the United States, having learned more about NACE through the Web site, will be attending this year's show.

The Daily News, the show's official online daily, will bring NACE to people around the globe and allow them to experience the World's Largest Collision Repair Event.

NACE isn't all work, however. On Thursday, Dec. 2, you may spend an evening with Trisha Yearwood, winner of the 1997 CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, the 1998 ACM Top Female Vocalist, and the 1998 Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance. Entertainer and comedian Howie Mandel will bring his hilarious, high-energy show to NACE Saturday evening, Dec. 4.

On Sunday, the Atlanta Ballet is performing the timeless holiday classic, the Nutcracker. This is a great opportunity to see this timeless tale performed by the oldest dance company in the country.

This will be my sixth NACE. My first, however, as president of the Automotive Service Assocation. It is my pleasure, on behalf of ASA - the NACE show sponsor - to welcome you to Atlanta and to NACE '99.

Once the show starts, please visit The Daily News often as we will be updating it constantly.

Sincerely,

Walter F. Trapp
ASA President and Chief Staff Executive
