General Sessions

On Saturday, ASA's Washington, D.C., representative, Bob Redding, brought his always entertaining update on legislative issues. He keeps his eye on both national and state issues that affect the independent automotive service industry.
Bob represents and works on behalf of ASA members in our nation's capital, serving tirelessly as a watchdog for the independent automotive aftermarket professional.
Information Availability Panel
CARS concluded Saturday evening with a lively Information Availability panel discussion.
Independent repairers are increasingly faced with information availability issues. CARS '99 hosted a discussion consisting of participants from the OEMs, new car dealers, and the aftermarket.
In light of recent legislation in Arizona and California and possible U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations, this discussion was timely and critical to the future of our industry. Prior to CARS, this debate had been limited to the U.S. Congress and certain state legislatures.
