More About Camp Mak-A-Dream
Camp Mak-A-Dream is a cost-free camp for children and young adults with cancer, ages 6 to 25. It is located on 87 acres of land in Gold Creek, Montana. It has four cabins, an 11,000 - square - foot main lodge, an art studio, health center, maintenance building, fully accessible pool, hot tub, archery range, and ropes course. The camp is handicap accessible and has volunteer medical professionals on staff with treatments given on-site so campers don't have to go to the hospital, possibly missing out on camp activities. It operates year-round with sessions lasting eight days for 50 to 60 participants a session. Some activities the camp provides are swimming, horseback riding, sapphire mining, small group discussions, and workshops. Camp Mak-A-Dream is owned and operated by the Children's Oncology Camp Foundation, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization.
