Comment Buttons
Once you click on the Add Comments link, you will see a series of buttons at the top of the screen.
- Save - After you have written your comments, click the save button. Since the blog is moderated, once you click the save button, the post is submitted to the moderator.
- Exit - The exit button serves as a cancel button. If you do not wish to post your comment, click the exit button. Doing so, however, will permanently erase your comment.
Comment Fields
Below the comment buttons is a series of fields. Some fields are required and must be completed before a comment can be submitted.
- Title - This is the title of your comment. It appears in bold above your comments.
- Written by - This is you! You can use your real name, or feel free to use a pseudonym.
- Email - This is not a required field. The ASA blog does not publish the e-mail addresses of its participants.
- Random Code - This is a randomly generated, four-digit code. Codes consist of letters and numbers. You need this code to complete the next field.
- Random Code Verification - Type the four-digit code that appears in the field above. This is an important feature that should alleviate the posting of comments by spammers.
Adding Comments
The ASA Blog features a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) text editor. You should be able to format your comment using this tool. For bloggers without the proper software to run WYSIWYG editors, a text box is provided to submit your comments.
Once you have typed your comments, press the save button at the top of the screen.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I preview my post before submitting?
At this time, our blogging software does not have the ability to preview a post. We are searching for ways to implement this feature in the near future.
2. Can I edit my post once it's published?
We are looking for a component that will allow this feature as well. In the meantime, if you see something in the published comment that you would like to change, please send an e-mail to angiek@asashop.org and we'll change the post on the back-end.
3. Why does my post not appear immediately once I submit?
To foster a civil, focused discussion, comments will be moderated for tone, focus and relevancy. Therefore, your post will not be published until it has been read by the blog's administrator.
4. How do I know my comment has been submitted successfully?
If you did not receive an error message, then your comment has reached ASA.
5. Where is the RSS feed for the ASA blog?
The URL for the RSS feed for ASA's blog is http://www.asashop.org/rss/asablog.xml. This link is accessible at the top of every page.
