Many body shops and parts houses chose this attractive 1936 Diamond t three-quarter-ton “Open Express” pickup for its good looks and quality construction. The first Diamond T truck was built in 1911, and from the start, quality was the key to success. This Model 80 has a 205-cubic-inch, six-cylinder, seven-main-bearing, heavy-duty engine and a three-speed synchro mesh transmission. The truck was noted for the availability of optional deluxe trim items such as fender parking lights, chrome hubcaps, bumper guards, a banjo-style steering wheel, and automobile-type instrument panel with electric clock and cigar lighter. It is owned by Max Heinz, who rescued it from a field in Nebraska in 1992 and lavished time and effort to bring it back to its former glory.
