The Buick Skylarks of 1953 and 1954 were top-of-the-line showpieces designed to attract buyers into the showroom. Ata price of $5,000 - more than a Cadillac convertible - few were sold. They featured a cut-down, wraparound windshield; Twin Turbine Dynaflow transmission; and power steering, brakes, top, windows and seat (covered with top grain leather). The custom body had cutout fender openings, Kelsey-Hayes chrome wire wheels and a lowered and notched belt line. This powder blue beauty is owned by Richard Gross and has been refinished in lacquer, as original.
