In Parts 1 and 2, AutoInc. readers got an overview of many of the benefits and services offered to ASA members. In Part 3, AutoInc. spotlights the remaining companies whose special partnerships with ASA result in many savings for member shops. Part 3 of this article takes a look at the benefits offered in the following categories: Business Aids, Financial Services, Insurance, Uniforms, Utilities and Warranties.

Uniforms

Did you know that 70 percent of the public feels uniforms make employees look neater and more professional? If you want to promote a more professional environment in your shop, consider using Cintas (www.cintas.com) for your uniforms. Cintas offers ASA members a special discount on uniforms and accessories. To start saving on the cost of uniforms that you provide to your staff, call the Membership Department and request a copy of the set ceiling prices Cintas offers ASA members.

Business Aids

Here's one of those best-kept ASA secrets: ASA offers Labor Law posters that contain the most up-to-date compliance statements required by law. ASA members can purchase their particular state poster for $37.90. That's a discount of at least 50 percent over other sources - and it's delivered to your door! Texas residents will need to add $3.13 for state sales tax. Call ASA's Membership Department at (800) 272-7467, ext. 246 to order today!

One convenient way to see quick savings on your administrative supplies is to use Reynolds & Reynolds (www.reyrey.com). ASA members can save up to 30 percent off of items such as business forms, checks, key tags and other items you use for your business.

Financial Services

Want to attract quality employees to your shop? Offer them benefits they can't refuse and one that doesn't cost you a dime. ASA's Federal Credit Union (www.asafcu.org) is available to ASA member shops and their employees. Through enrollment in the credit union, shops can enjoy a multitude of benefits, including direct deposit, loans, benefits and checking and savings accounts. For more information, call toll free at (800) 272-2220 or (860) 243-9571.

One of ASA's most popular member benefits is the CarCareONE program, a consumer designed credit card program, offered through GE Retail Sales Finance (www.carcareone.net). The CarCareONE program offers customers the option of 90 days no interest with payment for purchases totaling more than $150. To learn more about this program call ASA's Membership Department at (800) 272-7467, ext. 295.

Choosing the right credit card processor can be critical to your bottom line. That's why ASA has chosen NOVA Network as the preferred payment processor for its members. NOVA is rated No. 1 by MasterCard for reliability, has more than 650,000 merchants and places high emphasis on customer service. Call NOVA today at (800) 718-8583 and ask how they can help you process credit cards quickly and easily.

Enjoy the convenience of an ASA member credit card. MasterCard from MBNA (www.mbna.com) is the only approved credit card of ASA. Members can enjoy the benefits of a credit card at a low introductory annual percentage rate, no annual fee, fraud protection and 24-hour customer service. For more information, call ASA's Membership Department at (800) 272-7467, ext. 295.

Utilities

Through APPI Savings Solutions (www.appienergy.com), ASA members can realize savings on their utilities bills. APPI's Savings Solutions identifies and implements options that reduce the costs of each member's energy, utility and telecommunications services. This benefit is only offered to members who live in deregulated states. For more information, contact APPI at (800) 520-6685.

Insurance

For many small businesses, health insurance coverage for employees may be an elusive benefit. Universal Underwriters Group (www.universalunderwriters.com) not only offers health insurance but also garage liability insurance. Universal has been insuring the automotive industry for more than 80 years. To request a quote for your shop, call (800) 840-8842, ext. 1616.

Homeland Healthcare is an indemnity insurance provider to ASA members. Homeland offers a three-tier rate plan that can be customized to suit an individual's needs. Call Homeland at (800) 493-4240, ext. 107, for an explanation of plan rates or visit the Members Only area of the ASA Web site (www.asashop.org).

Through Meadowbrook Insurance Group (www.meadowbrook.com), ASA offers its members a valuable benefit: business insurance. Meadowbrook Insurance offers dividend programs for business insurance, which helps keep costs down by sharing in group profits. To request a quote for your shop, please call (800) 726-9006.

American Fidelity Assurance Company ( www.af-group.com) makes disability insurance an affordable option for your shop. Through no cost to the employer, shops can offer short- and long-term plans to their employees. Take advantage of group purchasing power to provide a benefit package that is tailored to fit the specific needs of your company at competitive rates.

New Benefits Inc. can help you offset the high cost of health care.
