Internet History

When ASA was founded in 1951, it committed itself to advancing the professionalism of the automotive industry. But only 11 years later, a new technological advancement was developed, committing itself to revolutionizing the way we live our lives today. As ASA turns 50, the Internet reaches a milestone as well. Although coming to the forefront of our lives only recently, the evolution of the Internet began in the early 1960s. As we look back at the history of ASA in this issue, here's a brief look at the history and development of the Internet.

AutoInc. Launches Redesigned Web Site

The AutoInc. Web site (www.autoinc.org) has been online since 1999. The site now offers new features that make the site more interactive to the visitor. A new design offers a classic look with easy navigation. Among the new features, visitors can now submit a letter to the editor electronically and participate in our online surveys. Readers can also electronically comment on and rate individual articles and columns throughout the magazine. The “Coming Next Month” section gives visitors the opportunity to contribute to future issues. The site still contains a convenient search engine, advertising details, contributor information and previous issues dating back to December 1995.
