The 1959 Cadillac Series 62 convertible is the grand finale in the race for the largest fins that Cadillac started in 1948. Called a "Spaceship" by some, it has to be viewed in the context of the Fabulous Fifties, where it seemed perfectly normal. This "Gotham Gold" beauty was restored by Ron Paules, who owns two other '59s, an Eldorado Seville Hardtop and a Coupe de Ville. It has a 390-cubic-inch engine that develops 325 horsepower, mostly needed to move the massive machine around and run all of the accessories. Accessories include air conditioning, six-way seat, power windows, autronic eye headlight dimmer, power brakes and steering, power door locks, wonder-bar radio, cruise control, power trunk release and power door locks.
