NAPA/Martin-Senour Offers Training Sites For ASAMI Courses
NAPA Auto Parts and Martin-Senour Automotive Finishes have offered the use of five training centers for business management courses conducted by the Automotive Service Association Management Institute (ASAMI). NAPA/Martin-Senour operates training centers in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia and Reno, Nev. NAPA is a Charter Governor and Martin-Senour is a Charter Founder of EXCEL 2000, the automotive service industry's partnership with ASAMI.

I-CAR Education Foundation to recognize collision repair instructors The Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) Education Foundation recently initiated a program to recognize exceptional vocational-technical collision repair instructors. All qualifying instructors will receive the new Instructor of the Year Award. Awards will be presented at a Collision Repair Instructor's Network (CRIN) meeting to be held June 28 at the 1996 Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) Skills U.S.A Championships in Kansas City, Mo. Washington Shop Receives 1995 Honor
Art Morse Auto Repair was named "1995 Shop of the Year" by the Automotive Service Association of Portland (ASA-Portland). Art Morse Sr. and his wife, Sherry, owners of the Battle Ground, Wash., shop, were presented with the award earlier this year. Morse, who began his career in the automotive service industry more than 25 years ago, has twice been named NAPA/ASE Portland Technician of the Year and was the national winner of the award in 1994. He has served as an ASA-Portland board member and was recently elected president of the chapter. Art Morse Auto Repair was the first shop in Battle Ground to employ only National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified technicians; the first to offer a one-year or 12,000-mile warranty; and the first to offer a professional customer shuttle service. Among other community activities, Morse is president of the local Kiwanis Club and the shop sponsors a Little League team.

Redding Elected Chairman Of CSCV
Robert L. Redding, Jr., Automotive Service Association (ASA) Washington representative, has been appointed chairman of the Coalition for Safer, Cleaner Vehicles (CSCV). CSCV is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to reduce air pollution from motor vehicles and improve their safety.
