June 1999 AutoInc. Cover
The 1948 Buick Roadmaster was the top-of-the-line-Buick, with a 320 cubic inch engine developing 150 horsepower when coupled with the first year offering: Dynaflow automatic transmission. You got your money's worth at a little over $2,800 with a 129-inch chassis, power top and windows, leather seats, Sonomatic radio, and Weather-warden heating system. This was not a car designed for road racing, with a full coil spring suspension, but it delivered a soft boulevard ride that no other car could duplicate. This "Sequoia Cream" beauty is owned by Larry Klein, and was refinished in original nitrocellulose lacquer.
