On Feb. 5-7 in Hillsborough County, Fla., and surrounding areas, channel 8 news aired a segment on automotive repair. The segment, "Beware the Repair," provided consumers with information on how to locate a reputable repair facility, explained changes in the refrigerant recycling laws and offered other valuable information. Debi Conde, ASA-Florida president-elect, was included in the segment. Conde explained the value of ASA to consumers, advised them to contact the station’s phone bank for the nearest ASA shop, and to look for certified technicians. Hundreds of consumers called. Conde has presented the ASA name through various avenues, including a brochure, "For Women at the Wheel," that she provides to her customers.
