January 1999 AutoInc. CoverAny 1942 car is rare. Because of World War II, the government halted automobile production after the first two months of that year. Adding to the rarity of this Lincoln Zephyr is the fact that most buyers preferred the Lincoln Continental convertible. Consequently, few of these beauties were manufactured. This car features Lincoln's V-12 Zephyr engine, with 305 cubic inches and a rated 130 horsepower. It has a three-speed transmission with overdrive. This rare automobile is owned by Gerald Jeffry and has been restored and repainted with enamel, as it was originally, after being found in "basket case" condition in Texas.
