What a beautiful phrase! It brings about reflection about those tasks you wanted to complete, yet didn't; but it also reminds you that you now have another chance. Why dwell on what you should have finished last year when you cannot change a millisecond of the past?
Instead, sit down and make a list of all of the items you would like to do within the next 365 days. Then, write down the steps you will take to work toward those goals. Of course, I hope that becoming more involved in ASA is one of the goals on your New Year's resolution list. And this is the primary goal I would like to discuss, since I am uncertain as to the other aspirations on your list.
Clearly, more ASA involvement will mean more commitment. However, this commitment is extremely rewarding, and I encourage you to accept an available officer position on a local, state or national level. You may even find, as I have, that ASA involvement can help accomplish other goals in your life. I have also found that you truly do receive more than you give from the experience. Even more, participating in ASA can be loads of fun, and now there is even another way to have fun while partaking in ASA.
Starting next year, AutoInc. will be holding a "Best of" photo contest. For those of you who visit other shops while on vacation, this contest is right up your alley. Each month, a contest will be held for a different area inside repair shops. Then, AutoInc. will pick its favorite submission and post it in the upcoming edition. ASA will be accepting pictures for the best waiting room area until Feb. 4. The winning photograph will be posted in the March issue of AutoInc. After that, the next photo contests will be the best children's play area and the best Internet café. And there will be more featured categories to come. I know each of you have an area you are particularly proud of, so please share them with us. To find out more details, including how to submit photographs, please visit www.AutoInc.org.
In closing, I would like to wish you all the happiest, most successful and exciting year ever.
Happy New Year!
