Chairman's Message
Holidays -- A Time To Say Thank You
As automotive service business owners, we have our fill of issues to contend with and daily business pressures to deal with. All this activity makes it easy to forget that the service industry provides a livelihood for ourselves and our families, as well as for our employees and their families. Automotive service is a profession that we can all take pride in.The holiday season provides us an opportunity to remember all the good things we have going for us in our business lives, and to thank the people that make those good things possible. For automotive service business owners, two key groups of people that make our success possible are our employees and our customers. We should always be appreciative of employees and customers, but the holidays are the perfect time to give that extra word of thanks, or a "job well done" comment to an employee, or to go out of your way to greet customers and tell them "thank you for your business."
Most businesses will do something special for their employees during the holidays, whether it be bonuses, presents or a company Christmas party. Holiday benefits such as these are a great way to show your appreciation. In short, the holidays are a time to give that extra "thank you," no matter how you go about it.
As chairman of the Automotive Service Association (ASA), I want to thank each and every member of ASA for their continued support of the association. There is no better means of giving back to the industry than involvement in ASA, so thanks for another year of working toward solutions to the challenges we face. I'd also like to thank the national staff and affiliate staffs of ASA, and especially the many ASA members who volunteer their time at the local, state and national levels for the benefit of all of us. It takes the hard work of many people to make all of ASA's programs function. I think that many people do not realize the enormous effort going into association programs.
So when you're biting into that holiday bird, or unwrapping those presents, let's devote an extra moment of appreciation to everyone who contributes to the good of the automotive service industry. Your efforts are appreciated, and they are something extra to feel good about this holiday season.
