ASA-Nebraska Holds Annual Convention
The convention hosted more than 60 industry professionals. Kelly Bennett, AAM, taught this year's management training courses: "Show Me the Money" and "Be A Great Leader." Delphi's Jim Moore provided the mechanical technical training. Moore taught "OBD-II Strategies," "OBD-II Diagnostics and Mode 6" and "Emerging Technology." On the collision side of the industry, Jackie Shriver of I-CAR taught "Steel Full-Frame Sectioning (SPS03)," "Electric and Electric Hybrid Vehicles (ALT01)," and "Aluminum Panels and Structures Damage Analysis (DAM05)." In addition to the phenomenal education and training programs, attendees had the opportunity to see the latest in automotive products and services provided by 10 exhibiting companies and 13 support companies. The convention committee is already busy planning next year's event, which is scheduled at Harrah's in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Oct. 5-7, 2007.

Reminder of the Month
Exercise Your Membership Rights As an ASA member, you have the right to elect members to the national board of directors. The ASA board elections will be held Jan. 2 to Feb. 28, 2007. All regular members in good standing with ASA are eligible to cast their vote for the two positions of ASA general director. The voting process will guide each member through the necessary steps to vote. When voting opens, the entire process will be conducted electronically using a toll-free telephone number or by logging onto a secured Web site. Once members have phoned in or entered the Web site, they will vote by entering their member number plus a three-digit security code number and following the prompts. These numbers can be found on the mailing labels of this issue and January and February 2007 issues of AutoInc. The member number and security code are directly above the addressee's full name and enclosed by parentheses ( ). Example: (123456 789).

This year's annual convention for ASA-Nebraska was held Oct. 6-8 at the Ramada Inn in Kearney, Neb. In keeping with the convention's theme - Direction '06, Drive Into the Future - the event provided attendees with valuable training and educational programs for their business blueprint. There was a great response from all who attended. Featured speakers for the convention were Bryan Haase, ASA-Nebraska president, and, Bill Haas, AAM, with ASA national. The Saturday night banquet speaker was Steve Beck.
