2001 How's Your Business?

With 2001 coming to a close, the Automotive Service Association (ASA) has compiled the results of its ninth consecutive automotive service industry survey. Each year, ASA members provide valuable information detailing the strengths and issues facing the dedicated business owners of the independent mechanical and collision repair industries. The "How's Your Business?" survey details mechanical and collision businesses' management, employees, annual sales, marketing techniques, ownership, industry issues and expectations for the upcoming year.

Two thousand ASA member mechanical shops and 2000 ASA member collision shops were randomly selected and mailed the “How's Your Business?” questionnaire in July 2001. A significant response rate from both sectors - 319 mechanical and 200 collision - allows this survey to describe both ASA membership and the general independent repair sector. All survey responses are anonymous.
