Ways to Receive ASA CommunicationsPosted 8/11/2005By Denise Caspersen In 2003, ASA began asking members how they would like to receive the various communication pieces that come from ASA. Overall, postal mail still has the vote from the majority. The majority, 86 percent, enjoy postal delivery of AutoInc. magazine. If ASA members must receive a bill, 80 percent prefer that in postal form. ASA's Mechanical and Collision divisions produce a monthly newsletter, which 68 percent prefer to receive in paper form, as opposed to an online or e-mailed version. Although postal mail is still the No. 1 choice, e-mail communication continues to gain ground. Interestingly, more members are asking to receive legislative updates via e-mail (33 percent plus an additional 10 percent who want it both by e-mail and postal mail). E-mail communications about conventions, trade shows and meetings also increased from 2004 to 2005. And reminders about ASA's member benefits also have a growing electronic presence. Recently, ASA introduced ASA OnDemand - the electronic version of ASA's member handbook and directory. ASA OnDemand resides on your computer's desktop and is updated when you're logged online and you access updates. In preparation for ASA OnDemand's introduction, ASA asked members if they would download it, and three out of four members said "yes." ASA OnDemand can be downloaded from www.ASAOnDemand.com.
