More than 50 ADP employees participated in over 2,800 hours of educational training that focused on all aspects of collision repair. This is ADP's second subsidiary to achieve the Gold Class Professional designation.
From the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) comes word that the number of collision repair shops employing ASE certified technicians increased 20 percent from last year. According to a recent industry profile conducted by BodyShop Business, 61.7 percent of shop owners surveyed employ at least one ASE certified technician, up from 51 percent a year earlier.
ASE has also announced that Sept. 28 is the deadline for registering for fall certification tests. Tests will be offered Nov. 8, 13 and 15 at more than 700 locations throughout the United States and Canada.
ASE offers more than 40 certification tests in the following specialties: automobile, medium/heavy truck, truck equipment, school bus, collision repair and refinish, engine machinist, alternate fuels/CNG, parts specialist and advanced series.
Test centers fill up quickly. Early registration allows technicians and parts specialists a greater chance of getting the test center location of choice.
For more information, call (703) 713-3800 or visit ASE's Web site at www.asecert.org. Online and telephone registration, (877) 564-8661), will be available starting Sept. 4.
The firm also has announced that it is now providing its online customers daily technical service bulletin (TSB) updates by manufacturer in the New TSBs section of the online product.
The Aftermarket Web Challenge was developed to recognize the achievements of aftermarket industry companies that demonstrate superior Web site characteristics and to encourage more aftermarket companies to strive for Web site excellence.
Competitors may submit applications to the MIS Council board of directors through the end of August. Three finalists will demonstrate their sites at the MIS Council 2001 Fall Conference. Applications are available online at www.misg.com/misc.

The 15-minute video provides information on technician education requirements and career opportunities.
Cost of the video is $22.95. To order, ASA members may send their requests and payment to ASA's Mechanical Division, P.O. Box 929, Bedford, TX 76095-0929.
