Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) Gold Class Professional training requirements were completed by ADP Claims Solutions Group's database development group in May. The courses in the program are the industry standard for automotive collision repair and are identical to the curriculum presented to collision repair technicians and insurance professionals throughout North America.

ASE Announces Tech Increase, Registration for Fall Tests

ASE From the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) comes word that the number of collision repair shops employing ASE certified technicians increased 20 percent from last year. According to a recent industry profile conducted by BodyShop Business, 61.7 percent of shop owners surveyed employ at least one ASE certified technician, up from 51 percent a year earlier.

ASE has also announced that Sept. 28 is the deadline for registering for fall certification tests. Tests will be offered Nov. 8, 13 and 15 at more than 700 locations throughout the United States and Canada.

ASE offers more than 40 certification tests in the following specialties: automobile, medium/heavy truck, truck equipment, school bus, collision repair and refinish, engine machinist, alternate fuels/CNG, parts specialist and advanced series.

Test centers fill up quickly. Early registration allows technicians and parts specialists a greater chance of getting the test center location of choice.
