AutoInc. CoverIn the late 30s, automotive stylists were beginning to try to fill in all of the empty spaces around the tires, and this Packard Twelve demonstrates the progress by 1938. This would be the next to the last year for the mighty 473 cubic inch 12-cylinder engine, which was so smooth that a quarter coin could easily be balanced on its edge with the engine at idle. This beautiful limousine with divider glass in owned by Harris Laskey and was photographed at Sedona, Ariz. It has been refinished using nitrocellulose lacquer in an unusual lavender color specified by the original owner.
