ASA Opens Members-Only Section
As technology advances, the Automotive Service Association (ASA) Web site expands! The new "Members Only" section of the ASA Web site opened this past February with great success and continues to add new features for the benefit of ASA members.
Entrance to the Area
Regular ASA members can enter the password-protected area by using their ASA member number as both their name and password. If you don't know your member number, it is located above your name on your AutoInc. mailing label and on your ASA member card.
The online membership database is updated weekly, so new members can expect to have access to the Members Only section soon after joining. If you have trouble entering the area, please call (800) 272-7467, ext. 234, or send e-mail to alissa@asashop.org for assistance.
New Information
The Members Only section includes several new sections that are updated regularly. Later this month, the 1997 ASA Annual Report will be available online in this section.
The News Network electronic mailing list provides members with frequent e-mail messages about membership benefits and association news. To receive messages from the News Network, ASA members can subscribe by entering their e-mail address in a form located in the Members Only section. If you have an e-mail address, but do not have Web access, e-mail your member number and name to news@asashop.org to join the mailing list.
A "This Just In" feature will house up-to-date general information about association activities, with special areas for the Mechanical Division and Collision Division to report on projects and committee work.
The Members Only section also includes a valuable breakdown of state legislative and regulatory issues pertaining to mechanical and collision repair. These issues are organized by topic and updated weekly by the ASA Washington, D.C., office, making it easy to navigate and find specific, timely information.
Also included in the Members Only section is a directory of the ASA national staff located in Bedford, Texas, and Washington, D.C., and the staffs of the Automotive Management Institute (AMI) and the ASA Federal Credit Union. Each month, this section will feature a profile of an ASA employee, so visit regularly to get to know the ASA staff!
The membership benefits section will keep you informed of new association benefits, such as ALLDATA's Continuous Subscription Program; television and radio commercials; Triad Financial Equipment Leasing; member home pages; discounts on the Uniform Procedures for Collision Repair (UPCR); Mitchell's Collision RepairWorks; Warrantech Automotive's Preferred Shop program; and Yokogawa leak detector and refrigerant identifier equipment savings.
The Members Only survey gives members the opportunity to provide input on specific subjects. The first survey deals with finding and training employees. Members should regularly visit the survey area since the survey topic and related questions will change often.
The Employment Classifieds section of the Web site is available to all ASA shops to post advertisements for available positions in 19 separate technical, administrative and management categories. If you don't have Web access, call ASA for more information.
Give Us Your Input!
We hope you will use the new interactive password-protected area and give us your input on important industry issues. Please send suggestions or questions via e-mail to alissa@asashop.org.
