Collision Wages on the RisePosted 4/4/2007By Karin White According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and ASA's annual "How's Your Business?" (HYB) survey, collision repair hourly wages are on the rise. BLS reports hourly collision wages reached $18.23 in 2005, a notable 12.5 percent increase from 1999. The HYB? survey results support BLS figures. The BLS 2006-2007 Occupation Outlook Handbook shows collision repairer employment changes between 2004 and 2014 are expected to grow about 9 percent to 17 percent. Key indicators of employment opportunities and competition for jobs are the nation's growing population, number of vehicles on the road, salvage rates and vehicle longevity.
